Recently, a British daily newspaper published several graphic representations relating to UFO sightings around the world. Now, these documents have been grouped into an infographic that shows the countries most concerned, but also the types of shapes observed or the profession of the witnesses.
“Visitors from elsewhere”
Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) are a subject that fascinates hundreds of thousands of people around the world. It must be said that regularly, news feeds the press. In March 2024, the latest Pentagon report revealed, for example, that the United States had considered in the 2010s reverse engineering alien ships potentially captured in the future before changing their minds. Furthermore, NASA has appointed a research director on UFOs at the end of 2023. In addition NASA’s various announcements and the US Navy among others, the numerous testimonies obviously also attract attention. Recently, the British daily The Economist published a series of graphic representations concerning the UFO sightings between October 2022 and April 2024. At the beginning of May, the International mail grouped these documents into an infographic entitled “Visitors from elsewhere” (see end of article). So, in which countries are UFO sightings most numerous? What were the different forms described by witnesses? In what professional fields do these same witnesses work?
US Far Ahead of Other Countries in UFOs
Unsurprisingly, UFO sightings are the most numerous in the United States with 11,312 reports. Next come the United Kingdom (1,151), Canada (667) and Australia (352). Furthermore, no less than 25% of the testimonies concern circle shaped ufos (or sphere). In second place, we find objects described as “luminous forms” and in third place, “changing forms”. The rest of the reports (about 50%) relate to discs, triangles and non-detailed shapes, grouped in the “other” category. The infographic also provides information on the profession of witnesses. Nearly half of the latter are former military personnel and 25% are scientists. The rest are divided between different professions, namely law enforcement officers, pilots and serving military personnel. Finally, the document mentions the United States and more specifically, the states with the highest number of reports. Now, New Mexico is the state with the most reports per 100,000 people.
